Vakatalesau was part of the Ba side that lost the 2007 OFC Champions League final on away goals, but the lanky striker says its time for the Men in Black to deliver.
“Looking at the way we have played the three games I think we are capable of winning the OFC Champions League,” he said.
“The boys have worked hard as a unit and stuck to each other and I believe that this is the year for Ba.”
Ba has defeated AS Magenta 2-0 before thumping Tafea FC 4-0 then drew with Hekari United 1-1 at Govind Park.
Vakatalesau says Ba’s unbeaten run in the group stages can be an inspiration for the side to go one step further than seven years ago.

The Fiji international striker has featured in all three of Ba’s group matches and says he wants that run of pitch-time to continue.
“Earlier this season I was unfit during the Champion vs.Champion series and I really worked hard after that and that is why I’m doing well so far,” he said.
Standing in the way of a second ever OFC Champions League will be Amicale, who downed defending champions Auckland City FC 1-0 today.
Vakatalesau has netted once in the competition for an overall record of 24 matches and nine goals with three different clubs – Ba, Hekari United and Lautoka.
The home and away semi-finals are scheduled for the last weekend in April and first weekend of May.
The home and away final is played in mid-May with the winners qualifying for the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco in December.
