The Warriors won their first two friendlies against the Bonitos, before sealing the trifecta with a 4-0 victory.
Coach Brendan Crichton says his side will go into the competition as underdogs, but he is confident they will overcome that tag in no time.
“The boys have done well and I am sure they are capable of the task so we will have a good line-up in our first game against Amicale,” Chrichton says.
He adds that although there is still more work to be done in some specific areas, he is sure the team is prepared.
“The only thing I will be putting more emphasis on is mental fitness. There were some incidents in our friendly matches that called for mental maturity in a game, but in general I have confidence in them.”
Chrichton says he is working on ensuring the team is balanced in its style of play and is unpredictable to its opponents.
“I am pretty sure we can achieve this in the few remaining days and get a strong side to play in our opener against the Vanuatu champions.”
He says the three new additions to the team, English goalkeeper Eddie Newman and Vanuatu pair Brian Kaltack and Nemani Roqara, have slotted in with the rest of the squad easily.
“The trio really fitted in well with the rest of the players and that leaves us clear with no problem in getting to find the right combination within the team,” he says.
The Solomon Warriors will face their first OFC Champions League opponent Amicale at home at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara at 3pm (local time) on Saturday 30 March.
