The side is set to line-up against Tahiti, Vanuatu and Solomon Islands, who are all sending squads to Fiji over this month and July as each looks to finalise their plans for the Games.
Acting Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) president and team director Anil Sharma says the clashes against the trio, who are regarded as three of the best national sides in Oceania, will be a vital part of Fiji’s preparations for the tournament in Noumea.
“The idea will be to try out different combinations and players during the six international matches,” he says.
“We are preparing for the Pacific Games and a final squad of 20 will be named from the 35 players.”
Roy Krishna and Salesh Kumar, who both play their club football in New Zealand, are the only overseas-based players in the squad while other notable names include Malakai Tiwa, Tuimasi Manuca, Simione Tamanisau, Alvin Singh, Alvin Avinesh, Avinesh Waran Suwamy and Pita Bolaitoga.
