Hiengene were the first to strike in the Trophee de Champions with Harry Dinet’s 11th minute goal sending the northern-based club ahead in the first half.
However, in the 20th minute Hienghene lost William Yentao who was sent off giving Magenta an opportunity to get back in the game.
But they too struggled to keep things on the straight and narrow losing Mickael Tiaou and Cedric Sansot in the second half.
In the end it didn’t matter as goals to Faby Demene and veteran Pierre Wajoka gave Magenta the lead they were after.
The 2016 Super Ligue will get underway next Thursday when fellow 2016 OFC Champions League-bound club Lossi takes on Magenta at Stade Numa Daly.
