The 20-year-old says he is determined to make a valuable contribution to Vanuatu’s campaign in Papua New Guinea later this month.
Thomas has recently reunited with his former Port Vila club Erakor Golden Star FC, following a seven months stint In Cambodia with Phnom Phen Crown FC.
The defender, who has three caps for the senior national team, says he can’t wait to represent his country at a major tournament.
“I missed the Pacific Games football competition last year because I was still playing for Phnom Phen Crown FC in Cambodia.”
“So I was very happy when I heard my name in the final squad to Papua New Guinea.
Thomas says he is keen to prove that national team coach Moise Poida has made the right decision by selecting him.
“It wasn’t easy but I have been praying and working hard on my own training so I can play for the Vanuatu national senior team in the Nations Cup.
“I will do my best to help my team to achieve good results in Papua New Guinea,” he says.
Vanuatu will kick off their OFC Nations Cup campaign against the Solomon Islands on 28 May.
Poida’s men will face New Zealand on 31 June, followed by their final Group B match against Fiji four days later.
