Black Roses and Utulei Youth are 1 and 2, respectively, in the standings with 18 points each. The defending champs have the edge in goals differential with four (22-18) over Utulei.
This is not the first time the two teams have met with a title on the line and in the past, the ball has gone Black Roses way.
They have the top female players on their squad in Angela Sao, Filiga and Meleane Ioapo as well as up and coming player Lornalisa Sagapolutle.
“We are looking forward to seeing this match as it pits two of the best women’s teams in American Samoa against one another,” explained FFAS CEO Tavita Taumua. “I don’t think it’s going to be an easy win for whichever team wins.”
Utulei has international women’s player Fiapaipai Siatuu anchoring their attacking game while reliable defender Fuatino Kaleopa is their anchor at the back. They are sorely missing one of their best players in Fuataina Siatuu who has moved off island.
Kickoff time is at 9 a.m.
