Vulivuli, joined by assistant referees Jacqueline Stephenson of New Zealand and Wantin Yangum of Papua New Guinea, oversaw the high-scoring match between Gambia and France which ended in a 10-2 win for Les Bleuettes.
The Savusavu-based school teacher did well to control the game in front of 5000 spectators at Dalga Stadium in Baku where she was required to hand out a total of five yellow cards, four of which went to the Gambians.
Vulivuli was also fourth official for the Azerbaijan-Colombia, USA-Gambia, Uruguay-China and Germany-China clashes.
Back home in Fiji, football association president Rajesh Patel says he is very pleased to see Vulivuli doing so well at the World Cup, representing her country and the Oceania region with distinction.
“This just goes to show the standards that Finau has set and I would like to wish her well for the remainder of the event,” he says.
“I am sure that she will make us all proud.”
With the World Cup moving into the quarter-final stages this week, Vulivuli could be called upon to oversee further matches at the tournament.
