The 2014 OFC Champions League semi-finals 1st Leg begin on Saturday 26 April and Sunday 27 April when AS Pirae take on Auckland City FC at Kiwitea Street and Amicale travel to Govind Park to face Ba, respectively.
Media wishing to attend the semi-final matches are advised to arrange accreditation with the home club directly.
Accreditations issued for the OFC Champions League group stage will provide access to the match venue but not necessarily a working desk space.

Background information

The OFC Club Championship was first held in Fiji in 1999 when South Melbourne defeated Nadi 5-1 in the inaugural final.

Since that first championship 15 years ago, the tournament has been held another 10 times, making this the 12th edition of the Pacific’s premier club event. It has been held at various intervals in the past but now takes place annually to find OFC’s qualifier for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Australia (which left OFC for the Asian Football Confederation in 2006) and New Zealand clubs have dominated the competition since its inception, Australian teams earning three title wins to New Zealand’s seven.
The only team to break that stranglehold has been Hekari United of Papua New Guinea with its triumph in 2010.
The winners of the two home and away semi-finals advance to a home and away final with the winner qualifying for the FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2014 in December.
