With Vanuatu set to host the OFC U-17 Championship in April next year, the column is expected to feature special updates on the home sides preparations, as well as a countdown to the tournament’s kick-off in Santo.
VFF media officer Harry Atisson says Smile Foot will be prepared by Vanuafoot media in collaboration with Daily Post sports editor Raymond Nasse.
Nasse says the biggest aim for the column is to inform people about the upcoming OFC U-17 Championship while also providing general updates on football activities in the country.
The first column has already debuted, and Atisson says he is looking forward to seeing it continue when competition resumes in 2013.
“The Daily Post has been a long-time supporter of football in Vanuatu and is continuing that support today with Smile Foot,” Atisson says.
“We are very thankful to have the support of Daily Post management in promoting football. It is the biggest sport in Vanuatu today and we want to help remind people that football is fun, whether your team is winning or losing.”
Vanuafoot also has a column running Friday’s in the Vanuatu Times, a 30 minute show on TBV every Tuesday and a talkback show on Radio Vanuatu every Thursday at 7pm.
