The shot-stopper turned in a vibrant display as Solomon Islands took on a strong New Caledonia team coached by Kamali Fitialeata.
Sade concededed two early goals but took centre stage when she saved a Marielle Haocas penalty after just 21 minutes.
She then palmed away a Christine Xolowawa near post shot with a dynamic save just before half-time.
“For the penalty I could see where she was going to kick it as she lined up her shot,” Sade says.
“I just moved my fastest and was able to stop her from scoring.”
The last time the two teams met at the Pacific Games New Caledonia won 3-0 with the Solomon Islands finishing second from last in the group.
With matches against Samoa and Tonga still to come, Sade says belief among her team-mates the Solomon Islands can reach the semi-finals remains high.
“The most important thing is that we play as a team. For me, eight goals went past against New Caledonia which is upsetting. But fortunately I have my teammates to help boost me up and remind me that the ball had to get past all of them first.
“It can be hard being in goal because everytime the ball goes past you feel it personally so I am very thankful to have such positive teammates.”
Solomon Islands have only won two matches at this level, both against American Samoa, in 2003 and 2007, so does Sade feel any trepidation ahead of the Samoa and Tonga matches?
“We have a young side but we are here to do our best and make Solomon Islands women’s football famous like our men.”
Solomon Islands next match is against Tonga on Bisini Field 1 at 12.45pm today, Wednesday 8 July.
