FTF has set two long-term, but achievable goals of winning the OFC Champions League and successfully defending their OFC Nations Cup title in 2016.
In order to do that, the executive committee and technical staff have identified a successful national league as the crucial element in making that goal possible.
National team coach Eddy Etaeta is taking charge of the project, and he will be aided by heads of a number of FTF departments including Gilles Duplaix of the general management team, competitions manager Charles Ariiotima, marketing and communications manager Jean-Paul Tanguy and finance manager Vairea Guenett.
Already the group itself has identified 15 different areas which require overhauls in order to bring the league closer to the the more professional status being sought for its administration.
The next step has seen them invite the six clubs currently participating in Ligue 1 to take part in three meetings on the 29 March, 26 April and 21 June.
Three key objectives that will guide the agenda include increasing stadium attendance to maximise revenue for the participating clubs, improve the level of professionalism in terms of logistical organisation to acquire the skills required to host further FIFA events in Tahiti and improve the standard of the games to produce clubs capable of winning the OFC Champions League, and players for the Toa Aito to win the 2016 OFC Nations Cup.
