The three-day course is organised by OFC Head of Technical Development Patrick Jacquemet with seven participants attending.
Jacquemet, who has been in charge of the OFC Technical Development programme since January 2010, says the workshop is vital in calibrating the future direction of football development ahead of the next four year cycle.
“This workshop is organised to reflect on our activities over the past four years and, because our staff have been active in the field for the last four to five months, take the opportunity to share on what we’ve done and set course for where we want to go,” Jacquemet told the participants during the opening ceremony of the workshop.
“We need to follow the vision of the OFC President,” he added.

Likewise, Sarai Bareman, OFC’s Operations Manager stressed the importance of the Technical Department for the overall development of the game in Oceania.

“It is clear to me since starting in my role at the OFC that the Technical Department is leading in all aspects of planning and delivery of courses,” said Bareman.
“The Technical Department has taken the initiative in undertaking this workshop to develop a structured plan for the future.
“It is important that as part of this process you review the activities you’ve delivered in the past four years. This department has a very hard job delivering 70 courses per year with a lot of travel to the member associations,” she added.
“But you see the reality on the ground in each country and from a member association perspective it can be difficult to work collaboratively with someone who doesn’t have that experience,” she says.
The workshop consists of topics such as Player Development, Elite, Futsal & Beach Soccer, Women’s Fotball, Education & Training, Sport Session Planning and Goalkeeping.
The three day workshop concludes on Thursday.
