BRISBANE – Papua New Guinea international striker Reginald Davani has signed for Australian outfit Logan United. The 28 year old completed his move from Coburg United in Victoria to Logan United last month.

Davani has 19 caps for his country in which he has scored an incredible 15 goals (including seven strikes in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Germany 2006).  Davani spent last season in Victoria with Coburg United FC and in the Solomon Islands with KOSSA FC where he played in the 2008 O-League Final against Waitakere United.

‘That was a pretty amazing experience’ said Davani. ‘There were 20,000 people at the Solomon’s match with maybe another 5,000 locked out!’. Davani was an integral part of KOSSA FC’s run to the final as the Solomon Islands champions eliminated Ba and Tafea FC en route to the final.

Before that were spells at Auckland City FC, (where he won 2 NZFC titles and an OFC Club Championship title) and North Shore United in New Zealand as well as time with University Inter in Papua New Guinea where he helped lift the amateur side to a win over a semi-professional side to claim the National championship.

He was a finalist in the 2005 Papua New Guinea Sportsman of the Year and the 2004 Oceania Player of the Year awards. He is also a dual International, having represented Australia at Futsal.

Davani has been a crowd favourite wherever he has played and the frontman is keen for that relationship to continue with Logan United fans.

Davani will play in front of recent signing and long time friend, Fijian International Raj Oshen. He also joins other recent signings Yochi Okada from Redlands and last year’s LUFC ‘Players Player of the Year’ Seb Usai in a re-vamped and impressive LUFC line up.
