Coach Luke Eroi and his men will welcome the Papua New Guineans to PVL Stadium on October 29 and will be in a confident frame of mind after putting together a string of domestic victories.
The latest victims of the Red Rosters’ triumphant form was Seveners United, who suffered a 3-0 humbling at the hands of the 2011 O-League runners-up in the latest round of the TVL Premier League.
Prolific striker Fenedy Masauvakalo added further to his ever-growing career tally with two strikes, after Solomon Islands import Joachim Waroi had given Amicale an early lead.
Masauvakalo had a hand in that goal as well, helping set up Waroi to put Amicale in command in the 20th minute.
Eroi’s charges went on to put on a superb first-half display, and went further ahead when fans’ favourite Masauvakalo headed home a Gibson Daudau cross just before the break.
The impressive Masauvakalo then provided the highlight of the match in the 75th minute, bursting forward with the ball before unleashing an unstoppable shot home from 25 yards out.
The comprehensive victory – Amicale enjoyed most of the possession while Seveners failed to get a shot on target – puts Amicale on top of the TVL Premier League table with nine points.
