As the second round of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ Oceania Qualifiers gets set to kick off in the Solomon Islands and Fiji today, a cast of female talent are ready to showcase their skillset on the international stage.
We’ve picked one player from each of the competing nations to watch out for over the next week, with four spots in the third round of the qualification process in April up for grabs.
Group A

Rebekah Stott | New Zealand
Age: 32
Position: Defender
A stalwart for the Football Ferns since making her debut in 2012, Rebekah Stott has 108 international caps and will be participating in her third FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign, having been a part of the 2015 and 2019 squads.
Stott was one of three OFC players to be nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s 11 football award in 2025 and was also awarded the Most Valuable Player of the inaugural AFC Women’s Champions League in May last year, after losing the final with her Australian club side Melbourne City.

Zainab Donga | Solomon Islands
Age: 25
Position: Goalkeeper
Awarded the Golden Glove for the best goalkeeper of the tournament, Zainab Donga announced herself to the world at last year’s OFC Women’s Nations Cup with a breakthrough performance as the Solomon Islands won their first continental title.
The 25-year old’s exploits earnt her recognition as one of three OFC players nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s 11 football award in 2025 and she was also key for her club side Naha FC on their run to the final of the domestic league last season.

Breanna Kitiona | Samoa
Age: 17
Position: Defender
Teenager Breanna Kitiona joins a youthful core group of players for Samoa’s FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying squad, having been an integral member of the nation’s recent success at youth level competitions.
She was part of both Samoa squads who finished runners-up at the two most recent editions of the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship in 2024 and 2025, and captained Samoa at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World 2026™ in Morocco.

Cassidy Pamela Drago | American Samoa
Age: 18
Position: Midfielder
Cassidy Pamela Drago proved a revelation for American Samoa during the first round of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ qualifying, as one of several American-based players called into Amada Cromwell’s squad for the first time.
She marked her international debut with two goals in American Samoa’s first senior women’s international victory over Tonga, before adding another in the Round 1 final to secure her nation’s progression to the second round.

Ramona Padio | Papua New Guinea
Age: 27
Position: Midfielder
Captaining Papua New Guinea for their FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 qualifying campaign, Ramona Padio is one of the superstars of women’s football in the region, having won the Golden Boot for the top goalscorer at the 2022 OFC Women’s Nations Cup, and the Golden Ball for the best player of the 2025 edition.
She’ll be taking part in her third FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign and was also a part of the Hekari United squad that reached the OFC Women’s Champions League final in Tahiti last year.

Trina Davis | Fiji
Age: 24
Position: Forward
Currently playing her football for the Washington Rush in the USA, Trina Davis is Fiji’s first professional women’s football player, having formerly represented FC Olympia in the USL W League.
She’ll be playing in her third FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign, having made her international debut for the Kulas in 2018.

Leimata Simon | Vanuatu
Age: 25
Position: Forward
A winner of the women’s domestic league in Vanuatu with Tafea FC last year, Leimata Simon has also shown a clinical touch at international level, scoring five of Vanuatu’s six goals at the 2025 OFC Women’s Nations Cup.
Her tally meant she shared the competition’s Golden Boot for the top goalscorer with Papua New Guinea’s Marie Kaipu, and she’ll be one to watch again as she looks to rediscover that goalscoring efficiency in World Cup qualifying.

Jackie Pahoa
Age: 24
Position: Forward
A goalscorer in New Caledonia’s last appearance at OFC’s senior women’s level during the 2022 OFC Women’s Nations Cup, Jackie Pahoa returns to the international stage for her second FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
The forward has previously impressed at youth level and was a goalscorer for New Caledonia in the 2019 OFC U-19 Women’s Championship final.
