Suva Futsal Club claimed a hard fought 5-2 victory over Gulf Komara FC, holding off the Papua New Guinean side to secure their first win at the OFC Futsal Men’s Champions League 2025.

Suva opened the match with early pressure, Nikil Chand testing the keeper twice in the opening minutes as Suva settled quicker on the ball. Gulf Komara tried to respond with energy, but their possessions were rushed and they struggled to control the tempo.

Suva stayed composed and built steady attacks, their patience paid off when Rajneel Singh broke down the left and squared a pass for Chand, who finished cleanly. Seconds later Suva forced another turnover, this time Singh scoring on the counter to extend the lead.

Gulf Komara pushed hard through Morris Frida and Ashley Eric creating chances in transition. Ezekiel Vela struck the crossbar and Numa Kila intercepted a pass for a shot that went narrowly wide. Their pressure continued to grow and they found openings on the left side, but Suva’s defence stayed disciplined.

Suva’s Ramzan Khan went close before delivering a sharp pass for Merril Nand to finish, giving Suva a 3–0 lead. Gulf Komara refused to drop intensity and were rewarded late in the half. Vela broke down the left twice, scoring both times to pull the match back to 3–2 at the break.

The pressure from Gulf Komara continued in the second half and through their physicality and quickness, were able to make their way up the court and create chances. But Suva were able to stay composed despite waves the waves of pressure, with their 4th goal coming through a deflected shot.
