WHO ARE WE?
Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is the umbrella organisation of the national football associations within Oceania. Located at St John’s in Auckland, New Zealand, OFC has 11 Member Associations which it supports financially and logistically through various programmes.
OFC is the smallest of the world’s six Confederations but is an active participant within the FIFA football community. Along with AFC in Asia, CAF in Africa, CONCACAF in North/Central America and the Caribbean, CONMEBOL in South America and UEFA in Europe, OFC works to provide support to football’s international governing body.

OFC is charged with the task of servicing and administering football in the Oceania region while also using the game as a tool for social development. Our vision is to raise the overall standard of football in Oceania and utilise the power and passion of football to help promote education, community development, capacity building, health awareness, cultural exchange and economic development within the football community.

With an affinity for the Pacific and its diverse cultures, coupled with a passion and knowledge of the role sport can play in advancing sustainable development, this role is key to enhancing the profile of social responsibility while creating a platform to showcase these initiatives in our region.
As Media and Communications Officer, you will be working closely with the Media and Communications Manager to execute the media and communication strategy and initiatives to increase the profile of OFC, promote its values and role in social responsibility across the region it holds.
Primarily you will be responsible for:
- Developing OFC’s communication and media strategy and operational plan for the Social Responsibility department
- Working closely with senior management to develop and implement media and communication strategies
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships internally and key media stakeholders
- Creating a social responsibility content schedule and keeping the website and social media up to date
- Assisting with and coordinating media activities for football development workshops, programmes, webinars and e-learning
Skills and experience:
You will ideally have 5 years’ experience in a Media and Communications role plus;
- Proven experience outputting and editing news copy efficiently and to a high standard
- Project Management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills with a proactive and flexible attitude
- Effective planning skills including the development of strategies
- Extensive knowledge of media landscape and communication outlets including social media, TV, internet, radio, written press
- A degree or equivalent in a media and communications discipline
- An interest in sport for development
