The women’s games were completed as well as one match for Division 2 and two for Division 1 before the conditions forced the rest of the day’s games to be called off.
Lion Heart will take on Division 1 Cup holders Tafuna Jets on Setp. 11 at 4:30 p.m. on Field 1 while Field 2 will feature Black Roses taking on Pago Youth B at Pago Park Soccer Stadium.
Division 2 Cup holders Atu’u Broncos will face challenger Vaiala Tongan on Sept. 12 at 4:30 p.m. on Field 1 while Green Bay plays against Ilaoa & To’omata on Field 2 to complete the men’s Round 3 fixture.
WOMEN’S DIVISION
Black Roses coasted to two cup challenge matches on Sept. 7, beating the Tafuna Jets 3-0 in Round 5 and beating Green Bay by the same margin in Round 6.
In other Round 5 games it was Green Bay 1, Kiwi Soccers 1; Utulei Youth 2, PanSa 1; Ilaoa & To’omata 2, Lion Heart 0 and Atu’u Broncos 3, Pago Youth 0 by forfeit.
In Round 6 games it was Utulei Youth 2, Kiwi Soccers 1; PanSa 1, Ilaoa & To’omata 1; Atu’u Broncos 3, Lion Heart 0 and Jets 3, Pago Youth 0 by forfeit.
Utulei (6-0-6, 18 points) sits atop the standings, followed by Black Roses (5-1-0, 16 points), Ilaoa & To’omata (4-1-1, 13 points) and Kiwi Soccers (3-2-1, 11 points). If the playoffs were to be held today these four teams would be vying for the National League championship.
At No. 5 is Green Bay (3-1-2, 15 points); at No. 6 are the Jets (2-1-3, 7 points); followed by Atu’u Broncos at No. 7 (2-1-3, 7 points); at No. 8 is PanSa (1-1-4, 4 points) and finally Lion Heart (0-0-6, 0 points).
There are three more rounds for the women’s 2013 National League before the playoffs.
DIVISION 1
Taputimu Youth has moved into first place in the standings by a point over FC SKBC (7-6) after the former won against Utulei Youth 4-1 while the latter lost to Pago Youth A 1-0.
Defending champions Pago Youth A won their first game of the 2013 season after tying 1-1 with Taputimu in their Round 1 match and then losing 3-1 to the Tafuna Jets in Round 2.
DIVISION 2
PanSa leads the division by three points over Atu’u Broncos and Vaiala Tongan with the latter two yet to complete their Round 3 match against one another.
PanSa has 7 points to Atu’u and Vaiala Tongan’s four each. The Broncos hold the differential in goals tiebreaker over Vaiala Tongan, 3-0.
Green Bay is fourth with 3 points while Ilaoa & To’omata has 1 and Vaitgoi United rounds up the division with 0 points.
