From the President of Tahiti to the individuals among a huge crowd who packed into To’ata Stadium and the fan zone over the past two weeks – everyone is lending their support and labelling the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013 one of the best ever.
Not just because the home side, the Tiki Toa, overcame all expectations taking eventual champions Russia and four-time champions Brazil right down to the wire – but also because of the organisation and most importantly, the fans.
Tahiti 2013 is set to go down in Oceania history according to those in the know.

“We really wanted to snatch third place for all the people who have supported us since the beginning. We played with heart. We didn’t let go, even at the end, with that equalising goal a symbol of our tournament. Our team is young, it has a future. To put seven goals past Brazil and in such a way – not everyone is capable of that. We can be satisfied with the manner in which we performed in this play-off as well as our path. We fulfilled our objective of reaching the quarter-finals, we went on to the semi-finals and we lost third place by the skin of our teeth. I think also that we made the public happy.”
