The destructive 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit eastern Turkey on 23 October 2011 killing around 600 people and leaving thousands more injured or homeless. President Yildirim Demirören’e accepted the contribution on behalf of the Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu and expressed his gratitude towards Oceania Football Confederation.
