About the Role
This is a full-time position, working a minimum of 40 guaranteed hours per week.
Reporting to the Head of the OFC Professional League Department, the Club Development Manager will work directly with participating clubs to support their transition into sustainable and professionally operated football organisations.
You will act as both a trusted advisor and hands-on development partner, supporting clubs across areas such as:
- Strategic planning and operational growth
- Commercial development and fan engagement
- Governance and compliance
- Revenue generation and sustainability
- Club operations and organisational capability
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong relationship management, strategic thinking, and practical operational experience within football or sport.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting clubs in developing long-term growth and sustainability strategies
- Advising clubs on governance, business operations, commercial development, and operational best practice
- Supporting fan engagement, sponsorship, marketing, and revenue growth initiatives
- Delivering mentoring and educational initiatives for club staff and stakeholders
- Coordinating external consultants and development support programmes
- Monitoring club progress across operational, commercial, and governance objectives
- Supporting league-wide collaboration and professional standards
- Working closely with internal OFC departments and stakeholders across the region
- Attending league events and maintaining regular engagement with participating clubs
About You
You are an experienced relationship-builder who understands the realities of professional sport, football operations, and organisational growth.
You are commercially aware, strategically minded, and comfortable working across both high-level planning and hands-on operational support.
Most importantly, you enjoy helping organisations improve, develop, and succeed.
Qualifications
- Either a recognised bachelor’s degree in business, Sports Management, Commerce, or a related field or a minimum of five years relevant work experience. (must have)
- Postgraduate qualification in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (desirable)
- Relevant certifications or professional development in governance, compliance, or project management (desirable)
Professional Experience
- Proven experience working with football clubs or football organisations on operational and business development matters
- Strong understanding of football clubs as businesses, including commercial operations, revenue streams, marketing, and governance
- Previous experience advising or supporting clubs or sports organisations on strategic and operational issues
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Ability to influence, mentor, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across multiple environments

- Exposure to club licensing, compliance, or governance frameworks
- Experience in commercial partnerships, sponsorship, or fan engagement strategies
- Experience supporting club growth, operational transformation, or strategic planning initiatives
- Experience working across culturally diverse or international environments
- Additional language skills beyond English
