The two remaining spots in the National Club Championship finals will be determined today following a meeting  of the Fiji Football Association protest
committee.

The Fiji FA has received two protests one each in the north and the west after the respective playoffs on Sunday.

In the west Flying Arrows of Ba lodged a protest against Islands Electric Ghandi. Flying Arrows had queried the eligibility of a Gandhi player following its 2-1 loss in the
playoff for the third qualifier.

Flying Arrows claim that Simi Prakash formerly of Vatukoula was not properly released from his previous club.

Fiji FA vice president Doctor Hari Kewal confirmed receiving the protest.

Dr Kewal said a decision would have to be made soon as the NCC finals are scheduled to be played this weekend.

He said pool draws had to be done urgently.

Dr Kewal also revealed that Flying Arrows lost its opening match on a default after arriving late for its opening match against United Sangam.

“We gave them 30 minutes extra to get to the ground,” Dr Kewal said.

“However they failed and the referee awarded the match to United Sangam.”

Flying Arrows upset the star studded Uciwai team from Nadi 4-3. Uciwai then hammered United Sangam 4-0 to hand Flying Arrows a second chance of qualifying for the NCC
finals.

Flying Arrows lost to Ghandi 2-1 in the playoff.

The Fiji FA will also rule on a protest in the north after Bulileka complained about Tropic Board fielding unregistered players.

If the decision turns in Bulileka’s favour, then Tropic Board could lose its spot.

Tropic Board was in fine form defeating Deep River 4-1 and then Bulileka College 5-1.

Bulileka and Deep River drew 1-all in the second place play-off.

Teams which have already qualified for the NCC finals include defending champions General Machinery United (Lautoka), Uciwai (Nadi), Deep River (Dreketi), United (Rewa), Saint
Christopher (Rewa) and Barbarians (Nasinu).
